Villa Grimani International School
Villa Grimani International School was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted to offer their children the opportunity to attend a school providing an excellent education in an open-minded, happy environment, with the daily programme taught in English. Since then the school has continually improved and developed and boasts an ever growing number of students whose future is bright due to receiving an excellent, individualized education in English and Italian.

Educational Objectives
Respect, for oneself and others is one of the most important aspects in which our school believes.
We help students grow and develop in a multilingual environment whilst encouraging the advancement of personal talents.
We help students to become independent in any situation, an important skill for adult life.
What we offer
Villa Grimani International School offers an education for children as young as one year of age up to and including middle school age.
Teaching has a multi-sensory approach in the Early Years classes which then develops into a complete multidisciplinary education with languages and multiculturalism at its core.
Early Years
The Early Years Department is set in its independent building. Our qualified, mother tongue teaching staff follow the UK Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which consists of 7 areas of learning and is adapted to meet the needs of each individual child. We provide a positive, caring, structured and stimulating environment in which children can explore, experiment and be exposed to rich educational experiences all conducted in English.
Primary school
Children here are taught the main core of the curriculum by qualified mother tongue English teachers who gained their teaching degrees in their home countries. Children are taught mainly in English but also study Italian for six hours a week with a mother tongue qualified Italian teacher. The curriculum is broad and covers all traditional subjects as well as embracing art, music, library and computer technology on a weekly basis.
Middle school
Our secondary school concentrates its activities around developing the use of languages introducing Spanish and German to the curriculum. The students are taught by qualified mother tongue teachers who are specialists in their subject area. They have the choice of studying mathematics in English language or Italian. Students are encouraged to become completely independent and taught to study efficiently.

WORK IN PROGRESS
How to apply
It is possible to enrol your child at Villa Grimani at any point during the academic year providing there are spaces available. Children are accepted from Italian, foreign and international schools. They may be asked to sit an entry test and meet with staff on a few occasions to gage their level of English and to decide in which class they should be placed. Children entering with little or no English are given individual support from our support teachers in and out of the classroom.
